You better go ahead and start training because the Annual Goblin Gallop is only a few months away, and this year’s event promises to be the big and best ever. Heron Bay Golf & Country Club has really gone above and beyond this year to make sure everyone can enjoy a Locust Grove Saturday evening. The Goblin Gallop will be on Saturday, October 25 this year. For those that are unfamiliar with this popular event, it includes a 6k run, 1 mile walk/run and tot trot for the little ones in which you can wear your Halloween costume. There will also be prizes awarded for your creative costume efforts, so you might want to go ahead and start brainstorming. The 6K race begins at 5:00 p.m., and the other events follow in fifteen minute intervals - the 1 mile walk/run starting at 5:15 and the tot trot at 5:30. You can find the registration form online.
For all of you Georgia Bulldog fans out there, I know you must be thinking - “October 25th is the UGA vs. LSU game, and I CANNOT miss it.” Well, Heron Bay has that all taken care of, as this year the game will be broadcast from an onsite plasma TV, which will then be raffled off after the race. Heron Bay Golf and Country Club celebrated the grand opening of its Lakefront Park on Saturday, June 21. The fun and exciting mid-day event was attended by more than 500 residents, who all enjoyed food, music and entertainment.
