You better go ahead and start training because the Annual Goblin Gallop is only a few months away, and this year’s event promises to be the big and best ever. Heron Bay Golf & Country Club has really gone above and beyond this year to make sure everyone can enjoy a Locust Grove Saturday evening. The Goblin Gallop will be on Saturday, October 25 this year. For those that are unfamiliar with this popular event, it includes a 6k run, 1 mile walk/run and tot trot for the little ones in which you can wear your Halloween costume. There will also be prizes awarded for your creative costume efforts, so you might want to go ahead and start brainstorming. The 6K race begins at 5:00 p.m., and the other events follow in fifteen minute intervals - the 1 mile walk/run starting at 5:15 and the tot trot at 5:30. You can find the registration form online.
For all of you Georgia Bulldog fans out there, I know you must be thinking - “October 25th is the UGA vs. LSU game, and I CANNOT miss it.” Well, Heron Bay has that all taken care of, as this year the game will be broadcast from an onsite plasma TV, which will then be raffled off after the race. All 6K participants get a raffle ticket for registering and other raffle tickets will be available for purchasing at the race. (more…)

One great aspect about Heron Bay is that it is full of hidden treasures available only to residents of the Atlanta golf community. We’ve definitely touched on a few of these, especially the amenities, but I think it’s time to elaborate on just how special it is to be a homeowner at Heron Bay.
Being a resident of Heron Bay Golf and Country Club means enjoying state-of-the-art amenities exclusive to the large master-planned community. When someone says amenities, many people think swimming pool and tennis courts, but at Heron Bay it is so much more than that. For example, it’s not just a swimming pool, but an entire aquatic center with waterslides, waterfalls, two pools and more. The community does have lighted tennis courts, but also has a play park, sports field, neighborhood parks and other recreational fields. This extraordinary community has miles of walking trails that will take you all over the community - pass the lakes, golf course and to the Cole Reservoir. (more…)

All residents of Heron Bay Golf & Country Club know they have a high-quality, luxury home no matter what part of the master-planned community they live in. Even better are the conveniences of the retail village at Heron Bay which include restaurants, shops, an urgent care clinic, banks and other daily errand stops which allows residents to save time driving around and spend more time doing the things they love. However, its what residents might not necessarily notice that truly gives this Atlanta golf community the luxurious and peaceful feel its known for: over 560 acres of green space! This incredible amount of green space is not only really impressive for a master-planned community, but also is such a great way to enjoy the natural beauty Georgia has to offer. Heron Bay is a perfect blend of all the modern conveniences and home upgrades of an Atlanta new home, while still maintaining 560 acres of what makes the south a beautiful place to live. So take a walk around Heron Bay in Henry County and really take pride in one community that understands that less really is more.

Heron Bay Golf and Country Club celebrated the grand opening of its Lakefront Park on Saturday, June 21. The fun and exciting mid-day event was attended by more than 500 residents, who all enjoyed food, music and entertainment. Heron Bay residents can now enjoy absolutely breathtaking views of Henry County’s Cole Reservoir from the new Lakefront Park. The park, located on the secluded far west end of the Atlanta golf community, features a large, stunning pavilion with a catering kitchen, overhead fans, picnic tables, fire pits, an IPOD docking station and swings. Beautiful pergolas are scattered around the lawn surrounding the pavilion and provide an ideal place to relax in the shade. The park will allow Heron Bay residents to enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends while taking in magnificent views of the sparkling, crystal blue lake. The Lakefront Park provides the perfect space for picnics, cookouts, quiet time and much more. The Lakefront Park grand opening event was organized by the Heron Bay Community Association and the Heron Bay Social Committee. That’s right, you did not misread the title - Heron Bay is one of the top 10 selling subdivisions in all of Atlanta. To be specific, it is #9 on the list, which is a tremendous feat considering there were only two communities on the list from south side counties. Another factor to point out is that master-planned communities were prominent on the list, only reinforcing the fact that living in a master-planned development has endless advantages and homebuyers are now looking for those added perks when buying a new home in Atlanta. And boy does Heron Bay Golf & Country Club come with perks! Not only are the homes in this Atlanta golf community in every price range, from the $180,000s to over $1 million, and come with an exceptional list of amenities at hand, but the wonderful staff at Heron Bay goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure you are happy with your home and the community in which you live. There is even a full-time activities director to plan regular neighborhood events, giving you a great chance to get involved with community and meet your neighbors. Plus, in no time at all, (more…)

Heron Bay Golf & Country Club is a premier master-planned community in Atlanta, and there are many benefits to living in this type of community. Many people don’t really understand the difference between a regular community and a master-planned community, so I am here to help clear up any of the gray area.
- Architectural integrity - a master-planned community carefully establishes architecturaly guidelines for all the homes, assuring that neighborhoods offer diversity while complementing each other. And this integrity can be seen in the streetscape, landscape and amenities as well as the homes.
- Remarkable amenities - it’s no secret that Heron Bay provides homeowners with a long list of life-enhancing amenities like an 18-hole golf course, swimming pools, extensive hiking trails, playgrounds, recreation centers and more.
- Natural beauty - the careful planning of a master-planned community usually includes a respect for the natural beauty of the area, preserving a great deal of natural greenspace and wooded areas. Heron Bay created a peaceful environment through conservation of natural space, creation of parks and walking trails and a strong focus on tree plantings.
- An investment in the future - master-planned communities like Heron Bay maintaiin their value and homes in these communities typically appreciate more in value because (more…)
