Building Homes In Henry!

Monday, June 14th, 2010

According to the latest information released by the Henry Council of Quality Growth, we are finally building new homes in Henry County again.  Last year we only had 172 total residential building permits issued a little more than a 50% drop from 2008.  This year we are up already up 32% over last year.  In addition to the new home starts, we are seeing a decrease in resale inventory, by almost 1,300 homes year-over-year.  In new home inventory we have reduced the total units standing by almost 80%.  What does this all mean? Well, it means new homes are being started in Henry County!

HBlakeOne of the places new homes will be going up is Heron Bay Golf and Country Club.  Heron Bay is introducing a new builder in the $300,000 -$400,000 price range and still has John Wieland and D.R. Horton going strong.  As we move towards a new tomorrow, keep Heron Bay and Henry County in mind when looking for your new dream home.

Heron Bay Resident Takes the Stage

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Henry Players The WomenKicking off the new year,  The Henry Players will be performing The Women Thursday, February 18 through Sunday, February 21. The Women by Clare Boothe Luce is a satirical performance situated in 1936 to 1938 and focuses on high society wives in New York City.

The cast is made up of all women, but like most of the conversations we have with our girlfriends  men are the the focal point of the conversation throughout the play.  These  upper-class women experience marriage, divorce, vanity and gossip: all of which play heavily in their daily struggle to move themselves up in society.

Damon and Kay Bohan, residents of the Atlanta golf community, Heron Bay Golf and Country Club, volunteer their time with the Henry Players.

In addition to volunteering, the busy couple also runs a local salon, Damon’s Design Team in McDonough. They have both performed in several plays as well as done the hair and makeup for a few of the productions.

Damon directed Sweeney Todd during the 2009 season and Kay was the Assistant Director for Deathtrap. She will also be appearing in The Women. (more…)

Henry County Job Growth on the Rise

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Heron Bay Golf and Country ClubCNN Money recently released a report entitled “Where the Jobs Area” that ranked the top 25 counties in America for job opportunities. Our very own Henry County, Ga. was ranked number 7.

Since 2000, Henry County’s job growth has been above the national average. The county’s close proximity to Atlanta and to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport allow for job opportunities in the area. Job growth is a key predictor of real estate market growth which is good news for Heron Bay Golf and Country Club homeowners.

Heron Bay has been the top selling community in Henry County since 2004. It has also been ranked among the top selling single family communities in all of metro Atlanta – and with good reason. Heron Bay offers beautiful homes ranging from the low $100s to high-end custom golf course homes, resort-style amenities and a (more…)

Heron Bay Spotlight Builder Offers Special Financing at the Preserve

Golf Front New Home in AtlantaThere may be a few home builders that are offering special financing options on their new homes, but there hasn’t quite been an offer like the one that John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods are featuring on their Henry County new homes in The Preserve at Heron Bay. What makes this deal so extraordinary? Well, it’s the community of course. This truly is a remarkable neighborhood within Atlanta’s most beautiful master planned community. While this neighborhood is part of a large community, the neighborhood itself is very intimate, consisting of only 50 homesites. So, residents are able to benefit from all of the amazing amenities of a large community, but have the feel of a small neighborhood at the same time.

The Preserve at Heron Bay is an impeccable location along the 2nd fairway of the Canongate golf course. Many of the available home sites back up to the Canongate golf course on the 2nd or 5th hole. Now is the best time to purchase the golf-front new home you have been longing for because John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods is offering 4.5% financing on homes that close on or before March 31, 2009 (more…)

Heron Bay Sees Successful Sales

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

cgheronbaygcssfinal.jpgBig kudos to Henry County’s top selling community as they wrote 8 contracts in December! What a tremendous feat considering December isn’t usually a month where people are purchasing homes. I mean, what is on your mind in December? I think of the holidays, buying presents, donating time and money to charities, wrapping up business for the year, tying up loose ends, hosting family, travel plans, etc. How could there possibly be time to shop and close on a new house? I guess when home shoppers take in the Heron Bay Golf and Country Club experience, their response is “we HAVE to move here NOW!” Who wouldn’t have that response after seeing the (more…)

Here’s a Way to Get into the Halloween Spirit

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Haunted ScarecrowIt’s the week of Halloween and one of the holiday’s favorite past times is experiencing terrifying and frightening endeavors. Heron Bay residents are in luck because with only a short drive to McDonough you can encounter the Curse of the Scarecrow, which is easily the most spooky and scary Halloween experience in Henry County. This is so much more than a haunted house as you are taken on an outdoor trail full of oversized spiders, strange whispers, an evil scarecrow and more. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to discover what it is that has cursed Heritage Hill. The attraction is only open for three more days, so be sure to make it to Heritage Park by Thursday night.

Unique attractions like the Curse of the Scarecrow help add to the appeal of Henry County. Located on the South side of Atlanta, you will be hard pressed to find another Atlanta suburb that has as much Southern charm as McDonough and Locust Grove. While Heron Bay Golf & County Club hosts many community events for the residents, it’s also a big plus knowing that the surrounding cities promote a sense of community as well. If this sounds like the lifestyle you have always been looking for, check out the Henry County new homes at Heron Bay.
