heron-bay-raceWe had a tremendous turnout last weekend for the Goblin Gallop, and I would really like to say thanks to everyone that participated. I truly love getting to know my neighbors at Heron Bay – the strong sense of community is one of the things that makes Heron Bay such an extraordinary place to call home – and last weekend I had the opportunity to meet many new faces as it was a record turnout! We are having a good time

heron-bay-goblin-gallop-raceCarla Cooper, Heron Bay Community Association Event Coordinator, just shared some pictures with me from last weekend’s Goblin Gallop. I tell you what, that Haley was as cute as a bug in a rug – not that I’d want to eat her like the bug, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, it brought back memories of such a fun time. Helen, the nestlings and I participated in the one mile walk, though ours was more of a strut. Haley dressed as Big Bird, and Spalding dressed as his favorite food, a frog. After that, for fun, we flew the course for the 6K run. That was the first time I’d ever seen a frog fly. The important thing is we helped raise $20,000 for the Hands of Hope Clinic, which is Henry County’s only free medical and dental clinic.

While I was in the neighborhood, I flew in to view the progress of my new home in Lakeview at Heron Bay. The house is coming along wonderfully. I met with my builder and was able to meet the developer. It’s nice to know that my dream home will be in a community developed by such a committed team – these developers are dedicated to the homeowners, the environment, my family and our future and to creating an enduring place that I’m very proud to call home! And these builders really know what they’re doing – the house looks great!
