Heron Bay Golf and Country ClubThe Heron Bay Community Liaison Committee, made up of residents in the Henry county community, is already busy planning their give-back events to benefit several organizations throughout the upcoming year.  The Liaison Committee is dedicated to reaching out to both Heron Bay residents and those in need throughout the world.

The January project “SAVE Your Greeting Cards” encourages residents to donate their old Christmas and greeting cards to benefit the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.

2007 Goblin Gallop Starting LineYou better go ahead and start training because the Annual Goblin Gallop is only a few months away, and this year’s event promises to be the big and best ever. Heron Bay Golf & Country Club has really gone above and beyond this year to make sure everyone can enjoy a Locust Grove Saturday evening. The Goblin Gallop will be on Saturday, October 25 this year. For those that are unfamiliar with this popular event, it includes a 6k run, 1 mile walk/run and tot trot for the little ones in which you can wear your Halloween costume. There will also be prizes awarded for your creative costume efforts, so you might want to go ahead and start brainstorming. The 6K race begins at 5:00 p.m., and the other events follow in fifteen minute intervals – the 1 mile walk/run starting at 5:15 and the tot trot at 5:30. You can find the registration form online.
Runners Dress Up in Halloween Costumes at the Goblin GallopFor all of you Georgia Bulldog fans out there, I know you must be thinking – “October 25th is the UGA vs. LSU game, and I CANNOT miss it.” Well, Heron Bay has that all taken care of, as this year the game will be broadcast from an onsite plasma TV, which will then be raffled off after the race. All 6K participants get a raffle ticket for registering and other raffle tickets will be available for purchasing at the race. (more…)
