Dive-in Movie At Heron Bay

Heron Bay amenity areaNo, that isn’t a typo.  Heron Bay Golf and Country Club is hosting a dive-in movie at their fantastic pool on Saturday, August 15th.

This unique event will be a great pick-me-up after the first week of school. The dive-in will feature the popular DreamWorks movie Kung Fu Panda and the Heron Bay Community Association will provide popcorn, candy and soft drinks to all residents.

This fun night out can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The Heron Bay Golf and Country Club’s aquatic center includes three pools with waterslides and water mushrooms and the Junior Olympic pool is even heated so it can be used year-round. Madagascar 2 at the McDonough Soccerplex

Madagascar 2 ShowingWhat better way to watch a movie about life in a jungle than sitting outside under the stars with green grass all around you?

Henry County Parks and Recreation and B 98.5 FM are bringing you Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa. This movie experience celebrates summer and all the fun we have had this year. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and spread out on the McDonough Soccerplex (140 Henry Pwky) to watch the movie while surrounded by nature.

This event will be held on August 1, 2009 and admission is free! The movie will begin at “Dark:30″ but there will be inflatables and other activities starting at 6 p.m. Concessions will be open all night and families are allowed to picnic on the fields.

Heron Bay Golf and Country Club is only minutes away from the McDonough Soccerplex which makes this event perfect for Heron Bay families. An end-of-summer escape  to Africa will surely boost the spirits of the children and adults alike. Heron Bay has amazing summertime amenities like its aquatic center and lakefront park that will continue the summer fun even into the school year.

Having a Blast at Heron Bay

heron-bay-nature-walkHello neighbors! I had a lovely Sunday afternoon full of excitement and fun. Three boisterous boys and I flew from one end of Heron Bay Golf and Country Club to the other playing games and enjoying the weather in our neighborhood. I am continually surprised by the fun and trouble my fine feathered son can get into!

Spalding had his four best friends over to play yesterday, and they certainly had a blast. First, they had a rowing contest at Spalding’s favorite hole in the beautiful Cole Reservoir. They rowed and rowed all around the lake, enjoying the breeze and the sunshine! All of the boys had a blast!

Next, the boys went swimming at the neighborhood Aquatic Center. They wanted to spend time in each of the pools, soaking up the rays. First, the boys visited the shallow beach-entry pool to get used to the water temperature. Then, they progressed to the nine brightly colored, mushroom- shaped waterfalls where they splashed around and chased one another through the maze of mushrooms. Next, the boys climbed all the way to the top of the two spiraling waterslides and raced one another down the slides to the plunge pool below. After 8 or 9 trips up the slides, the boys (more…)
