Summer is starting to wind down and we’ll welcome cool fall weather soon. As the leaves begin to change to the vibrant fall colors of red, orange, purple and gold, residents of the Atlanta golf and country club community, Heron Bay, are excited for all the activities that celebrate the fall season. Please mark your calendar to visit us during these great events:

• Henry County’s Heron Bay Golf & Country Club will say goodbye to summer at a Caribbean Night event with a steel drum band playing authentic island melodies, feast on scrumptious Caribbean-style food in a laid-back resort atmosphere, and catch up with fellow friends and neighbors.

• Card Night, a monthly event starting this fall, will give residents a chance to get together for card games such as Canasta and Texas Hold ‘Em.

• The Fall Lawn Care Seminar offers pertinent information to residents of the master-planned community on lawn preparation during the fall and winter months to ensure they have a beautiful lawn in the spring.

• The Fall Community Wide Garage Sale is a huge hit among the residents and avid garage sale shoppers, as Heron Bay becomes a one-stop shop for six hours on Saturday, October 2.  In 2009, over 40 Heron Bay community members participated in the fall garage sale. This event happens twice a year, so if you missed the spring event, start cleaning out those basements, closets and attics now!

• The 7^th Annual Goblin Gallop will be on Saturday, October 23^rd and will benefit the Hands of Hope Clinic in Henry County. This is a family fun event, with a 6K race, 1 mile walk/run and Tot Trot. Grab your Halloween costume and support this annual fall event.

Building upon the momentum begun with the tax incentives this spring, Henry County’s Heron Bay Golf and Country Club has announced that Paramount Communities broke ground on four new homes August 1, 2010.   In addition, our well-regarded and award-winning building partner, D. R. Horton Homes, laid the foundation for two homes in the Heron Bay community this month.    Homes in different price ranges allow Heron Bay community members the comfort of choosing a home at the price point best for their family while enjoying all the amenities Heron Bay offers including:

Who says no one is building new homes in this market?  Heron Bay Golf and Country Club in Henry County has a new builder, Paramount Communities, who has broken ground on four new homes.

In addition to Paramount Communities, Heron Bay also has D. R. Horton building several new homes.  Both of these builders build in different price ranges allowing the customer the comfort of knowing they can enjoy the communities resort style amenities at their price.

Residents of the Atlanta golf and country club community, Heron Bay, have an incredible educational environment for all to enjoy.   Noah’s Ark in nearby Locust Grove provides a home to abused, neglected and orphaned children and animals.  Nestled among the 250-acre retreat is a rehabilitation facility for animals, a residential home for children, natural animal habitats and nature trails.  Noah’s Ark opens at various times throughout the year to tour the animal habitats and learn about the nonprofit organization.

This weekend, the retreat is offering its first overnight camp, Adventure Safari, from 7pm Friday evening until 11am Saturday morning.  The evening under the stars will feature a “Flashlight Safari” of animal habitats to see which (more…)

America’s Builder, D.R. Horton Homes, announces two new homes in our thriving Heron Bay Golf & Country Club community!  Two new homes, the Miller and Campbell models, are currently under construction in The Summit at Heron Bay.  Both of these homes feature a loft, which can be a perfect playroom for the little ones, or be used as a game room for older children and adults alike.

The Heron Bay Swim Team, the Hurricanes, had its inaugural season this summer and are now wrapping up practice this week in anticipation of the final swim meet at the Clayton County Aquatic Center. The 40-member team has been working extremely hard since mid-May and will celebrate all of that hard work with an award ceremony at the Heron Bay Aquatic Center next week. Over the summer they have competed in 6 meets against Monarch Village Flyers, Lakemont Lightning, Eagles Landing Swim Team, Fairfield Area Swim Team (F.A.S.T), Tara Tarpons and Walden Waves.

As the master-planned community in Henry County continue to grows so do the events and activities available year-round to all the residents. In essence, the homeowners have many opportunities to meet new neighbors and spend time with friends that reside in the Atlanta lake community. As well as events, Heron Bay has a multitude of amenities including a 3-pool Aquatic & Tennis center, 3 miles of nature trails and a Canongate golf course.

This 4th of July weekend is sure to be a huge hit among the residents of the Atlanta lake community, Heron Bay Golf & Country Club. All 4 cities in Henry County, Stockbridge, McDonough, Hampton and Locust Grove all have something for everyone this holiday weekend.

Tanger Outlet, in Locust Grove, is having a big 4-day sidewalk sale beginning Friday, July2. Your favorite brand name outlet stores, including Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, Nautica and Nine West, are offering enormous savings through July 5.

The city of Hampton’s Main Street Program will be having July Fest on July 3 with a parade beginning at 11AM and a  and is having a parade, watermelon eating contest, water slide and fun for the entire family at McBrayer Park.

Heron Bay Golf and Country Club proudly announces its newest builder Paramount Communities.  Paramount will be building homes priced from the low $300,000s to the high $400,000s.  They currently have six plans to choose from with either a two- car or three- car design.  Paramount is starting construction on three home plans initially, the Carlton, Ivy and Hampton in Lakeview at Heron Bay.  The Carlton, going up on Lot 13 located on the tee box of the 7th hole, is a double master home with one on the main and one up, that has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths and an incredible 2 story family room.  The Ivy, being started on Lot 53 overlooking the pond and green of the 5th hole, is a master up floor plan that has an incredible amount of living (more…)

On stage from June 24th through June 27th, the Henry Players will be performing a children’s favorite, Charlotte’s Web at the Henry County Performing Arts Center in McDonough, Georgia.

The play is based on the literary classic by E.B. White and focuses on the meaning of friendship. Wilbur, the young pig who is afraid of being slaughtered by the farmer, befriends a spider named Charlotte. Charlotte’s extraordinary talent of writing words in her web, proves to be useful as she attempts to save Wilbur’s life by writing praising words about the pig for the farmer to see.

The month of June is an exciting month for residents of the Atlanta lake community Heron Bay Golf and Country Club and anyone who has had any interest in what Canongate is all about. Well, for those that aren’t interested in golf but want to be able to enjoy all the activities that Canongate at Heron Bay offers, a social membership is now available. The membership includes access to all of the Canongate pools and tennis courts as well as all the social events and dining privileges.

Events for the month of June at Heron Bay, included the Open House Extravaganza, a Luau and Pool Party and a Trivia Night. With 25 other Clubs in the Atlanta area, there is always something going on and people to meet.
