Heron Bay Tennis Team Excels

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

am-tennis-02-piaij.jpgHeron Bay’s Summer Mixed ALTA tennis team crushed the B3 division in their first year together.  The team made it to the third round of the city playoffs, and that only illustrates the type of community Heron Bay is. There is a true sense of community in the fact that they not only live together but also play together and work well as a team. Their team work has paid off and has brought glory to their tennis arena.

This fall the Heron Bay Tennis Club will be adding a Junior Boys team, 2 Men’s teams and 1 Ladies ALTA team. Since there is such a high interest in the club there should be two ladies tennis teams by the winter.  If you are a beginner or intermediate player there is no need to fret.  The tennis club will also be starting teams perfect for you to hone your skills very soon.  To increase you skill level, build team spirit, have fun, and bring home glory to your Heron Bay community contact Lisa Alexander at 770.898.0020 or email her at: lisaalexander01@yahoo.com.

Being a Resident at Heron Bay is Full of “Hidden Benefits”

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Children Scurry to Find Hidden Objects at the Heron Bay Scavenger HuntOne great aspect about Heron Bay is that it is full of hidden treasures available only to residents of the Atlanta golf community. We’ve definitely touched on a few of these, especially the amenities, but I think it’s time to elaborate on just how special it is to be a homeowner at Heron Bay.

Being a resident of Heron Bay Golf and Country Club means enjoying state-of-the-art amenities exclusive to the large master-planned community. When someone says amenities, many people think swimming pool and tennis courts, but at Heron Bay it is so much more than that. For example, it’s not just a swimming pool, but an entire aquatic center with waterslides, waterfalls, two pools and more. The community does have lighted tennis courts, but also has a play park, sports field, neighborhood parks and other recreational fields. This extraordinary community has miles of walking trails that will take you all over the community - pass the lakes, golf course and to the Cole Reservoir. (more…)

Sometimes Less Really is More

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

heronbay_marsh.jpgAll residents of Heron Bay Golf & Country Club know they have a high-quality, luxury home no matter what part of the master-planned community they live in. Even better are the conveniences of the retail village at Heron Bay which include restaurants, shops, an urgent care clinic, banks and other daily errand stops which allows residents to save time driving around and spend more time doing the things they love.  However, its what residents might not necessarily notice that truly gives this Atlanta golf community the luxurious and peaceful feel its known for: over 560 acres of green space! This incredible amount of green space is not only really impressive for a master-planned community, but also is such a great way to enjoy the natural beauty Georgia has to offer. Heron Bay is a perfect blend of all the modern conveniences and home upgrades of an Atlanta new home, while still maintaining 560 acres of what makes the south a beautiful place to live. So take a walk around Heron Bay in Henry County and really take pride in one community that understands that less really is more.

Even More Amenities for Heron Bay Residents

Friday, June 27th, 2008

p6210061.JPGHeron Bay Golf and Country Club celebrated the grand opening of its Lakefront Park on Saturday, June 21. The fun and exciting mid-day event was attended by more than 500 residents, who all enjoyed food, music and entertainment. Heron Bay residents can now enjoy absolutely breathtaking views of Henry County’s Cole Reservoir from the new Lakefront Park. The park, located on the secluded far west end of the Atlanta golf community, features a large, stunning pavilion with a catering kitchen, overhead fans, picnic tables, fire pits, an IPOD docking station and swings. Beautiful pergolas are scattered around the lawn surrounding the pavilion and provide an ideal place to relax in the shade. The park will allow Heron Bay residents to enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends while taking in magnificent views of the sparkling, crystal blue lake. The Lakefront Park provides the perfect space for picnics, cookouts, quiet time and much more. The Lakefront Park grand opening event was organized by the Heron Bay Community Association and the Heron Bay Social Committee. The Social Committee, which is chaired by Jackie Johnson, a Heron Bay resident, cultivates a sense of friendship between neighbors within Heron Bay through social events and activities for residents of all ages.

Why live in a Master-Planned Community?

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

The swimming pool and clubhouse at Heron BayHeron Bay Golf & Country Club is a premier master-planned community in Atlanta, and there are many benefits to living in this type of community. Many people don’t really understand the difference between a regular community and a master-planned community, so I am here to help clear up any of the gray area.

  • Architectural integrity - a master-planned community carefully establishes architecturaly guidelines for all the homes, assuring that neighborhoods offer diversity while complementing each other. And this integrity can be seen in the streetscape, landscape and amenities as well as the homes.
  • Remarkable amenities - it’s no secret that Heron Bay provides homeowners with a long list of life-enhancing amenities like an 18-hole golf course, swimming pools, extensive hiking trails, playgrounds, recreation centers and more.
  • Natural beauty - the careful planning of a master-planned community usually includes a respect for the natural beauty of the area, preserving a great deal of natural greenspace and wooded areas. Heron Bay created a peaceful environment through conservation of natural space, creation of parks and walking trails and a strong focus on tree plantings.
  • An investment in the future - master-planned communities like Heron Bay maintaiin their value and homes in these communities typically appreciate more in value because (more…)

Heron Bay Academy Accepting Pre-Enrollment

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Heron Bay AcademyAtlanta is notorious for its traffic. It seems that no matter what time of day on any day of the week, a 10 mile commute will take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, and, in some extreme cases, 1 hour! This in not an attractive part of our otherwise fantastic city. Spending time in bumper-to-bumper traffic can really be frustrating as we do have more important things to do with our day than battle other cars on the road. What’s even worse is that traffic is not exclusive to the interstates. How many parents spend 45 minutes driving their children to school in the mornings? Well, the wonderful people at the master-planned community, Heron Bay Golf & Country Club, which offers new homes in Henry County, have always gone above and beyond to make sure their residents are enjoying life to the fullest, and opening a school within the boundaries of the neighborhood is just another way that Heron Bay stands out in Atlanta real estate. Heron Bay #1 in Henry County

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

heron-bay-clubhouse.jpgAccording to SmartNumbers, Inc., Heron Bay Golf and Country Club is the number one selling community in Henry County, for the fourth consecutive year. With an amazing 110 closings in 2007, Heron Bay was able to come out on top, and, let’s be honest, it really isn’t that much of a surprise. I mean, no other community in Henry County, or even metro-Atlanta, has as much to offer residents as Heron Bay. And, even better, you don’t have to be a millionaire to afford a house in this fantastic master-planned community. Heron Bay caters to first time home buyers as well as those looking to upgrade with homes priced from the high $100,000’s to over $1 million. Another attribute that makes Heron Bay stand out in Atlanta Real Estate is that, on average, home sites range from one-quarter of an acre to one-half of an acre, which is significantly larger than many new communities. The Weather is Shaping Up, Time to Enjoy the Outdoors!

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

It is no surprise that Heron Bay Golf & Country Club has an exceptional array of amenities readily available for residents. And since meteorologists are telling us to expect Spring weather beginning next week, we recommend taking advantage of some of these great amenities, and enjoying the fantastic 65-degree weather.

cgheronbaygcssfinal.jpgGo ahead and schedule your tee-time for next weekend at the Canongate golf course before all of the time slots are taken. This exquisite 18-hole golf course is a Par 72 and 7,300 yards. However, if you don’t want to take the time to complete the course, practice your swing at the driving range or putting green. Don’t forget to enjoy lunch at the clubhouse.

h-bay-trail.jpgIf golf isn’t really your sport, then take a leisurely walk on one of the many nature trails throughout the community. The extensive trail system incorporates approximately 10 miles of pristine trails and wooden boardwalks that wind through nearly 1,000 acres of natural woodlands. These trails are a great way to see the Cannongate golf course, the various community parks and the beautiful Cole Reservoir.

To help get the children active, take them to the community’s state-of-the-art playground. If team sports are your interest, grab a raquet and head to the tennis courts or the community sports field. Whatever your passion, Heron Bay has a way for you to get active outdoors and enjoy the spring weather that is almost upon us.
