Community Celebrates Approval of Heron Bay Academy
The Heron Bay community and residents of Henry and Spalding counties recently celebrated the approval of Heron Bay Academy’s charter from the State of Georgia Charter Commission.
The celebratory meeting was held on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Heron Bay Lodge. Residents from both Henry and Spalding counties met to celebrate the new charter and to identify opportunities for volunteering and leadership. Discussion was held regarding the next steps Henry County will take. Some of the steps included the need for volunteer assistance, anticipated timeliness and being able to answer questions.
35 groups applied to the commission for new charters and Heron Bay Academy was one of only seven approved charters this past year. After a very thorough review by the State, Heron Bay Academy is honored to be recognized as offering a truly excellent educational opportunity for children in Henry and Spalding counties.
Many parents, community and business leaders have already joined in the effort to create a truly unique school. Heron Bay Resident and Academy Board Member, Rae Foster said she was thrilled that all of the hard work and energy over the past 3 years has resulted in an approval of the petition. She is excited that Heron Bay Academy offers another choice for tuition free education for her children.
