Goblin Gallop Gives Back
Picture yourself sitting at home and looking out over the street. Suddenly 300 people of varying ages come rushing past your window. Some are in traditional running gear while others are decked out from head to toe in Halloween costumes.
This was the sight for many Heron Bay Golf & Country Club members the morning of October 24 when residents of the master planned community came out to run in the sixth annual Goblin Gallop.
Despite the current state of the economy this year’s event was the best to date, drawing over 300 participants. Heron Bay residents turned out in droves to raise money for the Hands of Hope Clinic by participating in either the 6K run or the 1 mile Run/Walk. There was even a Tot Trot for children under the age of five. Overall the community was able to raise over $25,000 for the Hands of Hope Clinic, Henry County’s only free medical and dental clinic.
The Goblin Gallop was established in 2004 as a way to bring the community together while bringing awareness to and raising funds for the Hands of Hope Clinic, it has grown in size every year and has become one of the most popular events for the community.
