It’s Greening Henry County Week
This week is Greening Henry County week and each day Henry County will send out a Green Tip of the Day to all Update subscribers and Twitter users. Monday, June 1, also kicked off Henry County’s new Curbside Recylcing program. With nearly 73,000 households throwing away an average of 16.8 pounds of waste per day and no landfill, Henry County feels that now is the time to start doing more to reduce waste and protect the environment. The new program means that all waste haulers must offer curbside recycling for homeowners in unincorporated Henry County. Homeowners can then make the decision to participate or not participate in the program.
In addition to Henry County’s green tips, people can post their personal green tips for a chance to win goodie bag filled with green products courtesy of Central Georgia EMC, Georgia Power and the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority. To participate simply pass on the information that Henry County sends out along with a green tip of your own. The five best green tips forwarded each day will win a goodie bag.
