Henry is Gearing up for the Goblin Gallop

Henry running in last year’s Goblin GallopHeron Bay’s most popular resident, Henry Heron, is working hard to get ready for the Goblin Gallop which is only one month away. Of course you can read about his goals for the race this year on his journal or on the blog on his MySpace page. However, the bottom line is that he is excited to be participating this year, and wants many of his neighbors to participate as well. The race is at Heron Bay, through the lovely wooded streets of the community, so convenience is not a problem. All proceeds benefit the Hands of Hope Clinic in Henry County, so you are running for a great cause. Last year, the Goblin Gallop raised more than $20,000 for the medical and dental clinic, and, while that is definitely a number to be proud of, we would love to see it increase this year. Don’t worry about missing the UGA/LSU game because the game will be shown on a Plasma TV screen at the event. Even better, is after the race that television is going to be raffled off to one lucky individual.

All in all, the Goblin Gallop is a fun way for the entire family to get active and spend a beautiful fall evening outdoors. Remember that this is a Halloween-inspired run, and costumes are encouraged. In fact, the more creative, the better because prizes will be awarded to those that stand out. You’ve still got one full month to get prepared for the 6K, which is 3.75 miles in case you were wondering. Make sure to get a registration form from the Heron Bay website because registering before the day of the event saves you $5. See you on October 25th!
