Saturday Night Got a Little Jazzy

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

p5170034.JPGHeron Bay, which is a rare find in the Atlanta area due to the fact that the master-planned development goes above and beyond to make its residents feel a sense of community, has commenced a summer of fun with the success of the annual Jazz by the Pool event. Sharon Rae North performed from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 with her band on the veranda on the pool deck. Heron Bay families were able to bring picnics, chairs and blankets and enjoy a night of fantastic jazz music while mingling with their neighbors. This Atlanta golf community hosts events like this one on a regular basis to ensure that not one of its residents is a stranger in the community.

p5170062.JPGBeing a master-planned development, Heron Bay has a large number of homes and residents, and getting the residents of these Henry County homes together to enjoy a beautiful summer evening helps make the neighborhood seem a little smaller. Also, kids get to meet other kids in the community, and fantastic new friendships begin. When living at Heron Bay Golf & Country Club, you have definitely done more than purchase a new home in Locust Grove, but you’ve adopted a new way of life. So, if you haven’t already, come check out Heron Bay and get a little Jazzy on the weekends.

Heron Bay Considered “Mom-Friendly” in the AJC’s Homefinder

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Children living at Heron Bay enjoy fun summer activities at the swimming poolOn Mother’s Day, May 11, Heron Bay, an Atlanta golf community, was featured on the cover of the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Homefinder section. Rae and Matthew Foster, Heron Bay residents, were interviewed and photographed for the story “Mom-friendly neighborhoods”. They were asked why they chose Heron Bay to be the location of their new home in Locust Grove, what type of home they built, the type of activities available for families and other questions regarding the amenities.

“We like the mix of people in the community,” says Rae. “There are quite a few retired couples and a lot of families with young children. There are always kids for our girls, Anna Kathryn, 2, and Madelyn, 7, to play with.”

Why live in a Master-Planned Community?

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

The swimming pool and clubhouse at Heron BayHeron Bay Golf & Country Club is a premier master-planned community in Atlanta, and there are many benefits to living in this type of community. Many people don’t really understand the difference between a regular community and a master-planned community, so I am here to help clear up any of the gray area.

  • Architectural integrity - a master-planned community carefully establishes architecturaly guidelines for all the homes, assuring that neighborhoods offer diversity while complementing each other. And this integrity can be seen in the streetscape, landscape and amenities as well as the homes.
  • Remarkable amenities - it’s no secret that Heron Bay provides homeowners with a long list of life-enhancing amenities like an 18-hole golf course, swimming pools, extensive hiking trails, playgrounds, recreation centers and more.
  • Natural beauty - the careful planning of a master-planned community usually includes a respect for the natural beauty of the area, preserving a great deal of natural greenspace and wooded areas. Heron Bay created a peaceful environment through conservation of natural space, creation of parks and walking trails and a strong focus on tree plantings.
  • An investment in the future - master-planned communities like Heron Bay maintaiin their value and homes in these communities typically appreciate more in value because (more…)

Heron Bay’s Outstanding Tree Efforts

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Aerial photo of Heron BayHeron Bay is a huge supporter of the environment, as proven by their support of the Cole Reservoir, their extensive trail system and their tremendous tree efforts. The tree initiative may be something that you were not aware of, so allow me to elaborate in greater detail:

Since construction started in 2002, over 3,500 trees have been planted in the ROW and amenities areas. Applying their efforts further than the beautiful Atlanta golf community, Heron Bay has partnered with Henry and Spalding Counties to improve the beauty of streets in the area by adding trees, which are planted on fifty foot centers twice yearly during the dormant season. This particular approach has led to a survivability rate of almost 99%. Heron Bay and the partnering communities don’t just plant a tree and let that be that, they really want to make a difference, and so, the initiative is taken very seriously as both a certified arborist and landscape architect are hired (more…)
